I remember Mayno was going out (or was it working for) Nick the brit who was Brian Eno's manager. Well, in this capacity, we went to the Park West to an evening with Eno. I can't recall why people would find it interesting to talk to Eno, but there he was answering questions on a big stage, and the place was packed. Someone asked him what he thought of Frank Zappa, which he distinctly panned, as to his favorite bands? My Bloody Valentine. I'll have to agree, although PM Dawn was a distinct runner up.
Congratulations to me! Well, and the many party goers that helped put our wedding bash together in the super frigid air of December. Elizabeths many relatives helped make food, Julie Burliegh did flowers, and the Paulina Arts Center provided a venue. Sam, Ian, Brad and Dave even managed after a late night performance at Phyllis' Musical Inn to bring the equipment over and Shrimp Boat the crowd into some dancing ecstacy. All in all a great night and boy, I'm happy to get this marriage thing done with, need to concentrate on making a living.
Worked hard to get 8 or so pieces for Gary and the Ten in One show. All in all, I'm pretty pleased, this had some of my largest pieces to date. I was concerned about transportation and such, so they all had to be made from components that would break down into their core elements. This helped when I wanted to scrap a piece that wasn't working as well. The woodwork business was getting interesting, since I was able to do it all with hand tools, it gave things a certain 'look'. I was collecting more hand planes and other bits and pieces, although sharpening I never got the hang of, which is a shame, that's the key.
