Burning Spear

The reggae obsession becomes firmly a sub genre of my record collecting after going to New York and taking the M train to Brooklyn to visit Studio One. Not to mention trips to the south side of Chicago to go to Conquering Lion records looking for rare leftover Culture records or other gems from the mighty output of 1970-1980. Afterwards, the Marley thing kind of killed off something, or the government fell apart or something. Best of - Burning Spear - Studio One, who needs another record?

NovemberAround the bridgeport?

For reasons I still cannot explain, moved out of the fab pad in Fulton Market (mainly because the roomate thing was not going well, sorry Luxem), and instead of grabbing something in the hotbed Elizabeth has created in Wicker Park, instead chose Bridgeport. I suppose the only bit was it was kind of cheap, and quiet, and Sam and Shrimp Boat pals were around the corner on Archer. In hindsight...

September Around the coyote

coyote show

Met a great gal, Elizabeth Burke who is curating this show in Wicker Park called Around the coyote. She works at the art institute and Walter Andersons told her about my stuff and she seems quite interested. I am more interested in 'getting to know her better' and the showing of the etchings gambit seems to pay off as we get to also date while she's doing all this crazy art stuff.

I suppose it's somewhat of a surprise but my work is really well recieved. I have fans, and even potential buyers, and a Gary Lieb at Ten in one gallery seems to want me to do a show there. Crazy, perhaps I can quit my horrid job and leave this roomate thing behind?
